2. Our Service
turkeycarinsurance.com is operated by Ikamet Sigorta, a licensed Turkish insurance broker. We act as an intermediary between you and Turkish insurance underwriters. We are not an insurer ourselves.
Our service allows foreign-plated vehicle drivers to purchase Turkish MTPL insurance online. Policies are issued by licensed Turkish insurance companies and are legally valid throughout Turkey.
We reserve the right to refuse service to any person or for any vehicle at our discretion, for example where we cannot verify the information provided.
3. Eligibility
To use our service you must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Be the registered owner or authorised user of the vehicle
- Provide accurate vehicle and personal information
- Hold a valid driving licence for the vehicle category
By purchasing a policy you confirm that the information you have provided is accurate and complete. Providing false information may invalidate your policy.
4. Ordering a Policy
To purchase a policy you must provide:
- Full name as it appears on your passport
- Passport number
- Vehicle registration plate
- WhatsApp phone number and/or email address for delivery
- Desired policy start date and duration
Your order is confirmed when payment is received. A contract exists between you and the insurer from the policy start date, not from the order date.
5. Payment
Prices are displayed in EUR and indicative Turkish Lira amounts. All prices are inclusive of applicable taxes and broker fees.
We accept payment by:
- Credit/debit card (Visa, Mastercard — processed by Stripe)
- Bank transfer (details provided on request)
- Cryptocurrency — USDC and other accepted assets (where available)
Payment must be received in full before your policy is issued. We do not offer credit or instalment payments.
6. Policy Delivery
Once payment is confirmed, we aim to issue your policy within 2 hours during business hours (09:00–18:00 Turkey time, Monday–Friday; 10:00–16:00 Saturday).
Your policy PDF is delivered via WhatsApp to the number you provide, and/or by email. You are responsible for ensuring your WhatsApp number and email address are correct.
Delivery guarantee: if your policy is not issued within 2 hours of confirmed payment during business hours for reasons attributable to us, you are entitled to a full refund. This does not apply to delays caused by incorrect information provided by you, or to policies ordered outside business hours.
7. Cancellation and Refunds
Once a policy has been issued by the insurer, it is subject to Turkish insurance regulations regarding cancellation and refund. Turkish MTPL policies are generally non-refundable once issued.
If you have paid but your policy has not yet been issued, you may cancel and receive a full refund by contacting us immediately on WhatsApp.
If you believe a policy has been issued incorrectly due to an error on our part, contact us immediately. We will investigate and take appropriate action including policy correction or refund where applicable.
8. Limitation of Liability
We act as a broker. We are not liable for:
- Any failure of the insurer to pay a valid claim
- Loss or damage caused by relying on our service where you have provided inaccurate information
- Any loss arising from a policy being invalid due to incorrect vehicle or personal details provided by you
- Indirect, consequential, or special damages arising from use of our service
Our total liability to you in connection with any order shall not exceed the amount you paid for that order.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by our negligence.
9. Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the Republic of Turkey. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the Turkish courts.
If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, you may also be entitled to bring proceedings in your home jurisdiction under applicable consumer protection law.
