This Privacy Policy applies to turkeycarinsurance.com, operated by Ikamet Sigorta Aracılık Hizmetleri Ltd. Şti. ("Ikamet Sigorta", "we", "us", "our"), a licensed Turkish insurance broker regulated by SEDDK.
We are committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK — Kişisel Verilerin Korunması Kanunu).

2. Data We Collect
We collect the following personal data when you purchase a policy or contact us:
- Identity data: full name, nationality, passport number
- Vehicle data: registration plate, vehicle make/model, country of registration
- Contact data: WhatsApp phone number, email address
- Payment data: payment method and transaction reference (we do not store card numbers — payments are processed by Stripe)
- Policy data: policy start date, duration, vehicle type, coverage details
- Communications: messages sent to us via WhatsApp or email
We do not collect sensitive personal data (health, biometric, political, religious data) and we do not knowingly collect data from persons under 18.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use your personal data for the following purposes:
- Policy issuance: to issue your Turkish MTPL insurance policy with our underwriting partners
- Policy delivery: to send your policy PDF via WhatsApp and/or email
- Payment processing: to process your payment and issue receipts
- Renewal reminders: to send WhatsApp reminders before your policy expires (you can opt out)
- Customer support: to respond to your enquiries
- Legal compliance: to comply with Turkish insurance regulations and SEDDK requirements
We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
4. Legal Basis for Processing
We process your data on the following legal bases:
- Contract performance: processing your data is necessary to issue your insurance policy
- Legal obligation: SEDDK regulations require us to maintain policy records
- Legitimate interests: sending renewal reminders and improving our service
- Consent: for any marketing communications (you can withdraw consent at any time)
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as is necessary for the purposes described above:
- Policy records: 10 years from policy end date (required by Turkish insurance law)
- Payment records: 7 years (required by Turkish tax law)
- Communications: 3 years from last contact
After the applicable retention period, data is securely deleted.
7. Your Rights
Under GDPR and KVKK you have the following rights:
- Right of access: to request a copy of your personal data
- Right to rectification: to correct inaccurate data
- Right to erasure: to request deletion (subject to legal retention requirements)
